A. Smith Bowman Collection
The A. Smith Bowman Distillery in Virginia asked SPAR to design packages for a series of six special products for sale in the distillery gift shop. These would be from special runs designed to emphasize the distillery's capabilities and long history. The different brand names were selected to tell the story of the distillery's heritage.
SPAR elected to design around a two-part label with the face label as clear PSL (Pressure Sensitive Labeling), with an illustration of the Bowman family member(s) whose name appeared on the product showing through the liquid from the back label. In the case of the Colonial-Style American rum, a map of the Caribbean was used as the illustration to emphasize its source and the long journey the rum took coming to Colonial America. The gin and the vodka focused on significant distillery landmarks.
